Role & Responsibilities

  • Supervise parolees in the community; conduct home visits, job checks, and violation investigations.

  • Apply evidence-based assessment, case planning, and supervision techniques.

  • Update Colorado Transition Accountability Plan (CTAP) and monitor parolee compliance.

  • Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and guidance.

  • Investigate violations, impose sanctions, and present cases at hearings.

  • Maintain proficiency in firearms, CPR, first aid, and arrest control.

  • On-call duties; function as Peace Officer (C.R.S. 16-2.6-101).


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree OR 4 years combined coursework/experience in criminal justice, corrections, social work, or counseling.

  • Colorado P.O.S.T. certification or eligibility.

  • At least 21 years old, valid driver’s license, no felony/domestic violence history.


Competencies & Preferred Qualifications

  • Stress tolerance, self-control, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work with diverse, high-risk populations.

  • Preferred: prior Colorado state experience, parolee advocacy, community supervision experience, Evidence-Based Practices, Motivational Interviewing.
