The West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation is seeking a Corrections Superintendent 2, an
EXEMPT position, for the Northern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility. This position serves as the
Appointing Authority for the combined Jail, Prison, and Work Release facility under the administrative
direction of the Bureau of Prisons and Jails. This facility is in Moundsville, WV. The average inmate daily
population is 700, with 220 FTEs. This position functions as the chief executive officer of the facility and has
charge of its internal policy, management and programs. The position functions with latitude to exercise
initiative and independent judgment. Performs a high level of administrative and major policy function
including program development and the development of positive cooperative relationships with a wide variety
of customers and stakeholders. Makes independent, sound ethical decisions regarding highly sensitive
matters, and maintains confidentiality using collaborative evidence-based processes. This position will be
responsible for promptly enforcing all orders and maintaining discipline, preserving state property, and shall
have all care, custody and control of the inmate population and personal property belonging to inmates and
residents of the facility. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, along with 10 years of
experience in adult or juvenile correctional custody, is preferred. The bachelor’s degree may be substituted
with experience in the field of corrections. Applicants for this position must be bondable. The pay grade for
this position is 21, $49,642-$91,837 with a market rate of $80,916. This is an EXEMPT position, and the
salary is negotiable and contingent upon experience.
