The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking a Supervisor for the IID Intelligence Analytical Unit. This position oversees all employees in the unit, manages informational databases, produces actionable intelligence reports, and ensures efficient operations in support of DPSCS and allied agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, assign, and review work of IID Intelligence Analytical Unit staff
Evaluate unit functions, efficiency, and recommend policy/procedures
Manage all unit databases and control access/accounts for department and allied agencies
Ensure staff fulfill requests for information from databases
Oversee production and dissemination of intelligence documents for DPSCS, IID, correctional administrators, and law enforcement agencies
Prepare and distribute weekly intelligence reports to the IID Executive Director and designated personnel
Establish partnerships with federal, state, local law enforcement, private, and commercial organizations to implement best practices in gathering, analyzing, and sharing intelligence
Attend meetings, provide presentations, and conduct training sessions as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or Public Administration from an accredited college or university
Experience: Managing the full contract lifecycle for VIAPath (formerly Global Tel*Link/GTL)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with criminal justice databases, including CJIS, DataIQ, Maryland Dashboard, VIAPath, Thomson Reuters CLEAR, Automated Gang Intel Information System (AGI), or similar intelligence software
