Assistant Deputy Director

Job Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of PRRS (Programs, Reentry), directs and manages reentry programs at institutions.

Oversees and participates in the decision-making process for other divisions as directed by the Deputy Director.

Evaluates personnel to ensure compliance with SCDC policies and procedures, as well as state and federal rules and regulations.

Composes and updates policies and procedures.

Directs special projects and assignments and prepares special reports.

Develops working relationships with federal, state, and local agencies.

Develops and maintains relationships with prison industries to connect skilled offenders with employment opportunities in the community after release.

Develops working relationships with community partners to assist released or soon-to-be-released returning citizens.

Oversees and monitors personnel matters.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements

A bachelor’s degree and relevant program management experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements

A bachelor’s degree and ten (10) years of relevant program management or correctional management experience.

Must have ten (10) years of upper management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in program design, development, implementation, and reentry/community outreach work for offenders is preferred.
